Job summary

Macquarie is seeking a Senior ERCOT Power Trader for our Houston or Minneapolis office. You will develop and execute trading strategies across ERCOT power markets, including day-ahead and real-time products, while applying your deep knowledge of market fundamentals and risk controls.

Collaborate with analytics, quantitative, technology, and risk teams to generate market views and risk-adjusted returns, maintaining alignment with established risk limits.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience trading ERCOT power markets with a track record of risk-adjusted returns.
• Deep understanding of ERCOT dynamics: congestion, nodal pricing, generation economics, and transmission constraints.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced markets.
• Ability to collaborate with analytics, quantitative, technology, and risk teams to develop market views.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute short-term and long-term trading strategies across ERCOT power markets.
• Analyze market fundamentals: load, weather, generation, fuel markets, transmission constraints.
• Collaborate with analytics, quantitative, technology, and risk teams to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
• Ensure trading activities comply with risk management frameworks and approved limits.
