Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to join a team focused on process/equipment optimization and yield enhancement. The role emphasizes preventive/corrective maintenance, tool fault handling, and collaboration with engineering to improve uptime and performance.

The position requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent and 5+ years of direct Etch semiconductor experience in high-volume manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent military experience.
• 5+ years direct applicable Etch semiconductor experience in high-volume manufacturing environment is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance following standard procedures and check sheets where applicable.
• Respond to tool faults/interlocks and assist in wafer recovery, documenting and communicating to process teams to ensure material is measured and dispositioned correctly.
• Work with Shift Supervisors to ensure priority tools are addressed and PM scheduling is adequately covered.
• Resolve unplanned equipment issues and update necessary documentation.
• Provide support for new equipment introductions.
• Monitor and respond to abnormal equipment signals.
• Correct and generate SOPs when required.
• Work with engineering staff on uptime and performance improvements and evaluating/implementing creative solutions to improve performance and reduce cost.
• Update maintenance procedures and training for other equipment technicians on shifts to perform PMs per procedures.
• Increase overall tool availability and improve throughput by reducing speed loss associated with equipment performance.
• Reduce wet clean and downtime.
