Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Equipment Technician to support manufacturing and system operations, including setup and calibration, preventive maintenance, failure analysis, SOP documentation, and quality testing related to memory chips and logic.

The role involves collaborating with engineers and production teams, reading technical drawings, and adhering to health, safety guidelines in a cleanroom environment.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or military electronics focus or 3+ years semicon/manufacturing.
• Prefer 300mm cleanroom experience (Wet Etch).
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; strong documentation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs; stand 10+ hours.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled and corrective maintenance per SOPs.
• Respond to equipment faults and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Analyze data and verify quality metrics.
• Maintain accurate, timely records of work and communicate status.
• Operate safely in a cleanroom environment wearing PPE.
• Carry out maintenance tasks while wearing PPE.
• Work hours: D Shift – Wed-Fri 6:45pm–7:15am with alternating Saturday.

Position Summary

In this role as an Equipment Technician you'll be responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, such as working with engineers and manufacturing in set-up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting/following standard operating procedures, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the process and production of memory chips and logic. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.

The current base salary range for this role is between $31.00 - $46.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
