Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is hiring an Equipment Technician to support manufacturing and system operations for memory chips and logic. You will assist engineers with setup, calibration, maintenance, and quality testing, collecting data to adjust processes and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities include maintenance per SOPs, fault response and root-cause analysis, data verification, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent military experience with a focus on electronics.
• 3+ years semiconductor/high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Executes scheduled and corrective maintenance according to SOPs.
• Respond to equipment faults and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Analyze data and verify quality metrics.
• Maintain accurate, timely records of work and equipment status.
• Operate safely in a cleanroom environment using PPE.
• Carry out maintenance tasks while wearing PPE.
• Work hours: B Shift – Sun to Tue, 6:45pm–7:15am with alternating Saturdays.

Position Summary

In this role as an Equipment Technician you’ll be responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, such as working with engineers and manufacturing in set-up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting/following standard operating procedures, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the process and production of memory chips and logic. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.

• ProficientinMSWord,Excel,andPowerPoint
• Fastlearnerwhoadaptstonewsystemsandproceduralchange.
• Electronicandmechanicaltroubleshootingcapabilities.
• Knowledgeofhandtools,pneumatics,andelectricity.
• Excellentcommunication,teamwork,analytical,andproblem-solvingskills.
• Abilitytoreadandinterprettechnicaldrawingsanddocumentation.
• Demonstratecriticalthinking,planning,andactionplanexecution.
• Abilitytoliftandmoveequipment/suppliesupto50lbs.
• Comfortablestanding/walkingfor10+hrs.daily.

The current base salary range for this role is between $31.00 - $46.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
