Aaction Rents seeks a Senior Equipment Technician in Windsor, CA, with 10+ years of mechanical repair experience, including heavy equipment and trucks. You will diagnose complex systems and keep equipment ready for job sites.

In this on-site role, you will mentor technicians, coordinate with the Service Coordinator, and perform field repairs as needed, while continuing your education, troubleshooting across diverse equipment, and ensuring customers stay moving.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of mechanical maintenance and repair experience, with heavy equipment and trucks.
• Diesel repair experience required (minimum 2 years).
• Strong electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental/heavy equipment and trucks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing for safe operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment at customer jobsites.
• Mentor technicians and help shop/store staff grow their skills and confidence.
• Work with the Service Coordinator, communicating repair progress and maintaining service records.
• Complete at least 20 hours of continuing education annually.

We’re looking for a Senior Equipment Technician with at least 10 years of mechanical repair experience who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and can help our technicians grow. From troubleshooting in the shop to getting a customer’s equipment running on a jobsite, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our customers moving.

What You’ll Do

• Solve challenging problems: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental equipment, heavy equipment, and trucks.
• Keep equipment ready to work: Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Take your skills into the field: Troubleshoot and repair equipment at customer jobsites.
• Share what you know: Mentor technicians and help shop and store employees build their skills and confidence.
• Keep everyone informed: Work closely with the Service Coordinator, communicate repair progress, and maintain clear service records.
• Keep learning: Complete at least 20 hours of continuing education and training annually.

Requirements:

What You Bring

• At least 10 years of mechanical maintenance and repair experience, including heavy equipment and trucks.
• A minimum of two years of diesel repair experience.
• Strong electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
• The ability to work independently while being someone your team can count on.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach.
• A willingness to jump in when priorities change-and help others succeed.

This is an active, hands-on role that includes lifting and moving heavy parts, climbing, bending, working on uneven terrain and in confined spaces, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
