Job summary

The San Joaquin County Public Works - Solid Waste Division is seeking four Equipment Service Worker III positions on a full-time basis in Stockton, CA. Advanced servicing of heavy road construction equipment, bridges, ferries and other equipment is required, including lubrication and preventive maintenance.

Minimum qualifications involve pattern I-III experience in servicing heavy equipment, a valid CA driver’s license, and passing pre-employment exams.

Qualifications

• Two years as an Equipment Service Worker II in San Joaquin County service.
• Four years servicing and lubricating automobiles or light trucks.
• Two years servicing and lubricating medium and heavy road construction equipment.
• License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license at the time of application; may need to obtain a California Class B license within six months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Lubricates heavy road construction equipment and related machinery; checks oil levels and oils as needed.
• Services equipment; inspects and replaces filters; maintains batteries; reports repairs as required.
• Starts, operates, and moves equipment as needed.
• Schedules service using records/manuals; maintains service records and projects future needs.
• Inspects and lubricates drawbridges and ferries; maintains records.
• Drives service truck to work sites and stocks parts and tools.
• Maintains supply inventory records.
