Job summary

Mariposa Public Works is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker III-Facilities to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair and construction on county facilities, buildings and grounds. The role also involves operating light and heavy equipment and may include weatherization work in some assignments.

You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor – Facilities and may work in the Jail Facility or Human Services Department, with responsibilities including inspections, lead direction, and

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time equivalent construction and grounds maintenance experience.
• At least two years as Maintenance Worker II – Facilities in Mariposa County.
• Weatherization training or certification may be required for assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect county grounds, facilities and related areas to identify needs.
• Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance; carpentry, roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC work.
• Do reinforced concrete work for slabs, footings and walls.
• Perform groundskeeping: mowing, planting, pruning, irrigation, cleaning lots.
• Spray herbicides and pesticides as required for pest control.
• Repair roads, parking lots and assist with snow removal.
• Monitor water/wastewater operations and maintain logs and tests.
• Lead field staff as assigned and train others; coordinate weatherization work.
• Operate and service light and heavy equipment; maintain equipment and records.
• Perform custodial duties and ensure compliance with laws and safety rules.
• Work may involve field audits and coordination with outside providers.
• Assist in maintaining supply inventory.
