Job summary

The role covers Equipment Mechanic I or II; I is entry-level with two years' experience, II is journey-level with three years' experience. Candidates must obtain/hold California CDL with tank vehicle endorsements and pass DOT testing.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience for Equipment Mechanic I.
• Three years of journey-level experience for Equipment Mechanic II.
• Must possess a valid California CDL with tank vehicle and HazMat endorsements or obtain within six months.
• Ability to read shop manuals and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul smaller gasoline and diesel engines.
• Inspect and repair electrical and fuel systems.
• Inspect and replace brakes and wheel components.
• Inspect, repair and replace hydraulic systems and related components.
• Perform routine tune-ups and adjust timing, belts and other parts.
• Drive transport vehicles to move equipment and operate shop tooling.
• Prepare records and reports and ensure safety compliance.
