Job summary

The City of Myrtle Beach is seeking a Senior Equipment Operator to perform semi-skilled to skilled work operating motorized equipment for the maintenance of city grounds, sewers, streets and solid waste collection. The role includes safety compliance, inspections, and occasional lead duties over other crew members.

Responsibilities cover sanitation, water/sewer, parks, and streets with a focus on safe operation, timely reports, and collaboration with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience in equipment operation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements; other certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operates medium to heavy equipment to maintain and repair city grounds, sewers, streets and provide solid waste collection services.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and basic repairs.
• Assists with special projects, seasonal work, and traffic control.
• Drives and operates a wide range of equipment as needed for parks, streets, water/sewer, and solid waste.
• May serve as lead worker and guide crew members.
