Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Mechanic - Experienced to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited supervision. You’ll contribute to a safe, professional service environment and may advance into leadership within the Service Department.

You may travel to customer sites for repairs, assist in training junior technicians, and maintain thorough work documentation. United Rentals offers competitive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Must own tools applicable to position.
Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment.
Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance when required.
Maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
Document work performed (work orders) accurately and promptly.
Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
Other duties assigned as needed.
