Job summary

The City of Panama City is seeking a highly skilled mechanic to repair and maintain gasoline and diesel‑powered construction and City equipment. Under the guidance of the Logistics Director, you will diagnose issues, perform overhauls, and ensure reliable operation of fire trucks, police vehicles, and other City machinery.

Ideal candidates have strong mechanical knowledge, problem solving skills, and the ability to work outdoors in variable weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Florida Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (or ability to obtain within one year).

Responsibilities

• Repairs, overhauls and rebuilds construction/maintenance equipment.
• Maintains repairs/maintenance records for equipment.
• Mentors and shares knowledge with other mechanics.
• Orders required parts and researches issues to determine solutions.
