Job summary

The City of Pasco is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair its diesel and gasoline powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and reliability for community services.

The ideal candidate will have extensive mechanical repair experience and strong diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently in a shop. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs on trucks, graders, backhoes, and related equipment, with occasional field service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years automotive technology training required.
• Four years of mechanical repair experience with gasoline or diesel equipment.
• Valid Washington State driver license.
• CDL Class B and air brake endorsements.
• First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline-powered City vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks, graders, backhoes, and related equipment.
• Weld, fabricate parts, repair hydraulic systems, and maintain repair records.
• Operate shop equipment and follow safety practices.
