Job summary

Pro-Vac is seeking an experienced Equipment Mechanic to maintain our large fleet in Washington state. You will diagnose, troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment and Class A trucks in a fast-paced shop, with ownership of complex repairs and a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of heavy equipment and/or heavy truck mechanic experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, aftertreatment/emissions systems, hydraulics, air brakes, and 12-volt/CAN bus electrical systems.
• Experience using Cummins INSITE, Cat ET, and DiagnosticLink 8.
• Brake jobs and wheel-end repairs on Class A trucks.
• Welder with cutting torch experience.
• Willing to work extended hours with a less-experienced crew.
• Own hand tools up to 1½" including wrenches and sockets.
• Motivated, independent problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment and truck issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and major/minor repairs.
• Repair diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions, steering, and fuel systems.
• Use diagnostic software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Weld, fabricate, and cut as needed.
• Complete Federal DOT inspections on commercial vehicles.
