Job summary

Northwest Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst III - Equipment Finance to perform financial statement spreading, underwriting, and credit analysis in support of commercial lending. Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex credits accurately and efficiently.
• Knowledge of lending to a wide variety of industries.
• Ability to analyze detailed financial data, strong computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and requires independent judgment.
• Preferred knowledge in high-net-worth and corporate aircraft transactions.
• Understanding of secured loan documentation; negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely, high quality credit analysis and recommendations that evaluate strengths and weaknesses of credit actions.
• Engage in Opportunity Memo process and finalize OM for presentation.
• Analyze financial statements, industry risk, loan structure and market conditions to assess creditworthiness.
• Utilize spreading software to evaluate cash flow and repayment sources.
• Conduct underwriting and prepare collateral coverage and present in credit memos or modifications.
• Assist in underwriting level and due diligence for credit risk.
• Complete underwriting tasks within service levels and turnaround times.
• Participate in business calls with commercial lending and credit administration teams.
• Maintain knowledge of macroeconomic issues in local markets and regional industries.
• Maintain data integrity with underwriting platform and ensure accurate credit records.
• Remain current on banking rules related to Credit Administration and Commercial Lending.
• Identify policy exceptions for credit requests per Commercial Credit Policy.
• Monitor and revise workflows to enhance efficiency and minimize expenses.
• Identify potential credit losses and mitigate risk.
• Use risk rating models to determine risk ratings for credit requests.
• Prioritize assignments with Commercial Credit Managers.
• Evaluate guarantors' financial condition via personal financial statements and tax returns.
• Perform loan covenant testing and update records.
• Pursue ongoing education to develop underwriting and loan structuring expertise.
• Develop business writing and professional communication skills.
