Job summary

Bloom Energy is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineering Technician to support high-speed automated manufacturing equipment on a full-time, on-site basis in Fremont, CA. The role requires PLC/HMI programming, motion control, and equipment commissioning expertise, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include installation, start-up, and optimization of equipment across multiple lines, data analysis for improvements, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in a high-capacity manufacturing environment preferred.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is preferred but not required.
• Experience with automated equipment is essential.
• Knowledge of PLCs, low voltage controls, three-phase power, and industrial control panels.
• Ergonomics and machine safety standards knowledge.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support equipment across manufacturing lines with varying complexity.
• Diagnose and fix high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
• Provide PLC and HMI programming support including motion control.
• Modify control logic to improve safety, performance, or throughput.
• Assist in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure devices function as designed.
• Install, commission, and support vision systems for tracking and inspection.

We are looking fora SeniorEquipment Engineering Technician to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role willreportto Equipment Engineering Senior Manager and based in Fremont CA.** This **is a fully on-site, in office role.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, with differing levels of complexity

• Skilled in diagnosing and fixinghigh speed automatedmanufacturing equipment

• Automated Equipment

• Provide support for equipment through PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systems

• Ability tomodifyexisting control logic to improve safety,performanceor throughput

• Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed

• Installation,commissioningand support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspections

• Oversee equipment installation as well as start-up and implementation projects

• Validate new product designs, equipment, and processes with engineering teams

• Analyze Production Data to find ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise quality.

• Drive investigations and root cause analysis for quality issues

• Collect and analyze mechanical and electrical test data with engineering teams

Skills and Experience:

• 9+ years ofhigh capacitymanufacturing environment preferred

• Associate degree or technicalcertification in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenancerequiredor equivalent relevant experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineeringdisciplinepreferredbut notrequired

• Experience with Automated Equipment.

• Functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, industrial control panels, electronic sensors,pneumaticsand hydraulics

• Equipment requirement development and specification writing

• Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards

• Knowledge ofAutocad,Solidworksand MS Office suite

• Strong communicationand collaboration skills

• Good Attendance, Initiative, responsible follow through and a willingness to help.

• Must be flexible with changingshiftor workschedule.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand/walk for up to8-10hours per shift

• Occasionally lift/carry up to 25lbs

• Use hands and fingers tooperatemachinery controls and computers throughout the shift

• Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials

• Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff

• Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation

• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots)
