Job summary

JC Davis Power LLC is seeking an Equipment Buyer to lead the acquisition of new and used rental fleet assets and power distribution gear. You will source, evaluate, negotiate, and purchase generators, climate control units, light towers, and related equipment across multi-state operations.

You will convert fleet needs into purchase specifications, manage quotes, lead times, and delivery commitments to keep fleet availability ahead of demand and capital dollars optimized.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience with capital equipment or fleet
• Ability to read spec sheets, parts lists, and equipment drawings
• Experience negotiating high-dollar purchases and terms
• Familiarity with DOT, heavy haul, and regulatory requirements
• Experience with auction platforms and used equipment marketplaces

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase new generators, climate control units, light towers, and distribution equipment
• Evaluate used equipment, remaining useful life, and refurbishment costs
• Coordinate pre-purchase inspections and third-party inspections as needed
• Issue POs, verify pricing, and route approvals per policy
• Track lead times, manage fleet availability, and align with capital budgets
• Manage titles, MSOs, serial numbers, VINs, and registration documents
• Arrange freight, heavy haul, and oversize permits for inbound equipment
• Monitor procurement records and supplier performance for cost control
