Job summary

JC Davis Power in Texas is seeking an Equipment Buyer to lead procurement for generators, climate control units, light towers, and distribution gear across multi-state operations. The role requires sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and purchasing assets to support fleet readiness and customer commitments.

Reporting to the Senior Buyer/Expeditor within Supply Chain, you will coordinate with fleet leadership and operations to secure the right units at the right price and ensure timely deployments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years purchasing/procurement experience, with exposure to capital equipment or heavy equipment acquisition.
• Experience reading spec sheets, parts lists, and equipment drawings for mobile power, climate control, or distribution gear.
• Strong negotiation skills with track record of favorable pricing and terms on high-dollar purchases.
• Proficiency with Netsuite ERP or similar enterprise asset management software.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase new generators, climate control units, light towers, and distribution equipment from OEMs and dealers.
• Translate fleet requirements into complete purchase specifications (kW, voltage, emissions, sound, fuel, mounting, options).
• Solicit quotes, compare price/lead time/quality, and evaluate total cost of ownership.
• Track production slots and lead times; place orders to protect deployment schedules.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, freight, warranty, and delivery commitments; manage supplier relationships.
