Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater invites applications for the position of Investigator (Equal Opportunity Investigator, CP023). The Investigator conducts prompt, impartial investigations into high-profile complaints involving civil rights, discrimination, harassment, hazing, and retaliation, in line with policies and laws.

This is a full-time, 12-month appointment reporting to the Chief of Staff and Senior Strategy and Compliance Officer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; additional JD or related advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of professional experience investigating and resolving discrimination, harassment, or employment-related complaints, including sexual misconduct/violence.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws affecting higher education and civil rights.

Responsibilities

• Develop investigative plans and interview complainants, respondents, and witnesses.
• Gather, preserve, and evaluate evidence; prepare comprehensive investigative reports with findings.
• Maintain confidentiality and advise stakeholders during investigations.
• Provide consultative support regarding ongoing investigations and processes.
• Stay current on applicable laws and best practices for investigations.
