Job summary

Sompo US is seeking a Sr. Claims Counsel, EPL to join our Employment Practices Liability Claims team. Based in any Sompo US office, you will manage EPL claims, provide coverage and damages analysis, and support underwriting with timely reports.

The ideal candidate holds a law degree, 5–8 years EPL claims handling or related litigation, and a track record in high exposure matters; travel is minimal, and CPCU or RPLU is a plus. Salary range $125k-$175k.

Qualifications

• Law degree required.
• 5–8 years' EPL claims handling or related litigation experience.
• Preference for experience at both a law firm and with an insurance carrier.
• Pursuit of insurance designation (e.g., CPCU or RPLU) preferred.
• Exposure to complex high profile/high exposure management liability claims.
• Minimal travel as needed for claims mediation.

Responsibilities

• Manage US Employment Practices Liability (EPL) claims and related systems and processes.
• Provide coverage, liability, and damages analysis for EPL claims.
• Support underwriting through legal reviews, policy drafting, and timely reporting of exposures.
