Job summary

Sompo is seeking a Sr. Claims Counsel for EPL to handle complex US Employment Practices Liability claims across financial institutions and corporate management liability. You will review policies, assess exposures, and provide actionable insights while supporting underwriting.

A law degree is required with 5–8 years' EPL experience; a mix of law firm and insurer background is preferred. Some travel may be involved as part of cross-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years' experience in EPL claims handling or related litigation.
• Experience at both a law firm and with an insurance carrier is preferred.
• Strong interest in pursuing an insurance designation (RPLU or CPCU).
• Exposure to complex high-profile management liability claims is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage US Employment Practices Liability claims and related systems and processes.
• Provide coverage, liability, and damages analysis for EPL claims.
• Support underwriting with legal reviews and policy drafting.
• Prepare and distribute narrative and arithmetic reports on exposures.
• Collaborate with Global Claims Team on projects and industry events.
• Communicate with underwriting and management, and travel as required.
