Job summary

Sompo is seeking a Sr. Claims Counsel, EPL for its US Employment Practices Liability (EPL) Claims team. The role handles EPL claims for Commercial Management Liability and Financial Institutions Insureds, providing legal review and policy drafting support to Underwriting.

The successful candidate will analyze complex high profile EPL claims and advise on exposures. The position is based at any Sompo US office location with a collaborative environment that supports career development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in EPL claims handling or related litigation with increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage US Employment Practices Liability (EPL) claims and related systems and processes.
• Provide coverage, liability, and damages analysis for EPL claims with knowledge of D&O claims.
• Support underwriting through legal reviews, policy drafting, and timely reporting of exposures.
• Prepare and distribute accurate narrative and arithmetic reports.
• Collaborate with the Global Claims Team on projects and conferences.
• Communicate with underwriting, functional groups, and management; travel as required.
