Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a Senior Epic Analyst specializing in Epic Bugsy/ICON to lead the configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of infection prevention and clinical information systems in a hospital setting.

The role partners with clinical leadership, IT, and operations to ensure regulatory compliance, data integrity, and efficient workflows while mentoring junior analysts and guiding projects to successful delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or related field.
Epic Bugsy and/or ICON Certification (required).
3–6 years of Epic application build, implementation, and support experience within a healthcare environment.
Experience supporting Epic upgrades, implementations, testing, and optimization.
Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
Experience creating reports, documentation, and training materials.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, build, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of Epic clinical applications.
Configure and support Epic Bugsy/ICON and related Epic modules.
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex application issues.
Analyze business and clinical workflows to identify opportunities for system improvements.
Develop, maintain, and optimize application configuration, security, functionality, and user access.
Coordinate application upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations.
Lead testing activities including test plan creation, execution, validation, and documentation.
Lead configuration and support for infection prevention workflows and reporting.
Develop and maintain NHSN Reporting, SSI Surveillance, Infection Prevention Reporting, Microbiology Data Quality, and Clinical analytics.
Collaborate with Infection Prevention leadership to align Epic functionality with initiatives.
Ensure data integrity and compliance with healthcare reporting standards.
Analyze clinical workflows and translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
Validate workflow impacts before implementation.
Identify system issues and recommend scalable solutions.
Facilitate database conversions and system enhancements.
Support software implementations and upgrades from planning through production.
Serve as the primary support contact for providers, clinicians, and operational users.
Troubleshoot application, workflow, interface, and system issues.
Develop end-user documentation and training materials.
Partner with education teams on new workflows and enhancements.
Train users on applications, reports, and reporting tools.
Mentor and support Associate and Epic Analysts.
Lead project planning while maintaining scope, schedule, and quality.
Review project status and communicate updates to leadership.
Prioritize work requests and manage SLAs.
Help resolve SLA breaches through collaboration with stakeholders.
Participate in on-call rotations as required.
