Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager in Reston, VA to lead engineering teams delivering electric utility projects across the United States. You will champion portfolio performance, coordinate with clients and partners, and advance PMO initiatives in a dynamic environment.

You will mentor staff, manage risk and bids, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while traveling ~20% locally and nationally. A PMP or engineering degree with utility experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive Project Management experience in the electric power/utility industry.
• Experience with electric power and utility infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of high voltage substation and transmission engineering preferred.
• Experience working with EPC contracts; bid proposals and cost estimates.
• Proficiency in project management software (Workfront, MS Project, P6) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams on large scale utility transmission, substation, and related projects.
• Lead a team of project managers to deliver engineering design projects for electric utility clients.
• Own portfolio performance: cost, schedule, and scope management.
• Drive PMO process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Serve as Capture Manager for large new business opportunities and proposals.
• Mentor and develop project management staff.
• Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to address issues and report progress.
• Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
• Ensure contract compliance and quality control standards.
• Maintain communication with stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and mitigation strategies.
• Travel locally and nationally ~20-25%
