Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an EO Engineer in Orlando to advance physics-based models, perform system design trades and mentor junior engineers. You will contribute to EO/IR programs, communicate results to customers and leadership, and grow toward SME status in EO specialty.

The role requires hands-on experience with EO materials, sensors, radiometric analysis, and MATLAB-based simulations; CAMEO/MBSE experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSEE or another STEM degree with 3+ years related experience.
• Experience with EO systems including optical/infrared materials and coatings.
• Experience with state-of-the-art sensors and advanced laser systems.
• Radiometric EO analysis and simulation experience.
• Experience using MATLAB for EO performance analysis simulations.
• Ability to define/access target threat signatures in EO modeling.
• Design and analysis of EO candidate systems for ground and airborne sensor suites.
• Ability to conduct parametric studies for EO targeting sensor development.
• Instrumentation design for integrated system level testing.
• Must be a US citizen (no dual citizenships).

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based EO models and perform system design trades.
• Mentor junior EO engineers and potentially teach an EO course.
• Communicate analysis clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Increase technical depth and breadth in EO toward SME.
• Leverage CAMEO and MBSE where applicable.
