Job summary

RLI Corp is seeking an Senior Underwriter - Environmental in Peoria, IL to advance underwriting for complex environmental risk submissions. You will analyze submissions, price, and bind renewals while building strong producer and reinsurer relationships in support of a profitable book of environmental business.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of underwriting experience. RLI offers a competitive base pay, bonus potential, ESOP, and hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, risk management, environmental management, environmental studies or business or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of related experience for consideration.
• Equivalent level of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, evaluate, accept, decline, rate, quote, and bind new or renewal submissions with high premium or risk exposure.
• Build strong relationships between agents, reinsurers, and contacts.
• Review complex submissions, account losses, pricing models, and profitable premiums.
• Review complex sources of profit by selecting appropriate risks.
• Assist with special projects or other duties as needed.
