Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a senior underwriter in Los Angeles to autonomously manage a diverse portfolio of brokers, agents, and clients. You will underwrite within authority, price risks, and decide on acceptance based on data-driven analyses, focusing on high-complexity, larger-size policies.

You will mentor and train other underwriters, collaborate with UW Support, Claims, and Actuarial teams, and contribute to strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Progressive underwriting experience 7–10+ years, or more
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred
• Proven ability to communicate complex analyses clearly
• Proven track record of developing and underwriting profitable business
• Comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues and processes

Responsibilities

• Manages portfolio of brokers/agents and clients
• Develops and underwrites profitable business, representing Liberty
• Mentors, coaches, and trains other underwriters and internal partners
• Maintains strong market presence and relationships with brokers
• Collaborates across departments to drive underwriting and process excellence
