Job summary

Worthington Steel is seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Functional Leader to provide strategic direction and governance for environmental compliance, risk management, and sustainability across our operations. This role establishes standards, guides performance, and ensures credible reporting and disclosures while aligning with global stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required with 10–15+ years in manufacturing or regulated industries.
Experience leading environmental compliance, risk, and governance across multi-site operations.
Proven ability to drive sustainability reporting and disclosures.
Strong communication and executive-level coaching skills.

Responsibilities

Set and guide environmental standards and governance across North America.
Oversee sustainability reporting, GHG accounting, data quality and disclosures.
Lead centralized EHS team and coordinate talent development across sites.
Partner with Operations, Legal, and Business Units on environmental risks and decisions.
Support due diligence, integration priorities, and legacy risk management during acquisitions.
Drive continuous improvement of environmental systems and programs; standardize processes.
