Mortenson is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to support environmental management efforts, review documentation, and advise on environmental matters. Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you will interact with staff at all levels. This Minneapolis-based role requires travel to project sites (up to 50%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or related field.
• Significant SWPPP experience.
• Experience with endangered species, erosion control, SPCC, and other environmental risks.
• Deep understanding of federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies.
• Strong organization and collaboration skills.
• Ability to communicate with consultants and agencies.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Word.
• Minimum of eight years related experience.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop site-specific environmental plans and activities.
• Review environmental submittals and attend meetings.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Develop and lead environmental training programs.
• Lead best management practices for environmental management.
• Monitor mitigation measures and conduct site inspections.
• Collaborate with customers on regulatory reporting.
• Maintain knowledge of environmental issues and procedures.
• Communicate with third parties including client environmental personnel and regulators.
• Assist in company-wide Environmental Management support programs.
