Job summary

Tysam Tech, LLC is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to lead compliance and assessment projects across the USVI and mainland U.S. You will oversee site evaluations from start to final agency submittal, working with limited supervision and mentoring junior staff.

The role is based in St. Croix or St. Thomas, USVI, with projects throughout the US Virgin Islands and the United States. Travel up to 20% is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in an environmental or related role.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with territorial and federal environmental regulations.
• Conduct environmental assessments and site evaluations (Phase I & II ESAs, Environmental Impact Assessments).
• Serve as a primary technical contact for clients and regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior staff and review their technical work for quality and accuracy.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data from air, water, and soil samples.
• Manage environmental permitting, including air, water, waste, and land use permits.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for regulatory agencies (DPNR, EPA).
• Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, and the public on environmental matters.
• Support sustainability programs that reduce water use and waste generation.
• Track project performance and proactively manage risks, issues, and changes.
