Job summary

The Senior Environmental Specialist at Tysam Tech, LLC will manage compliance and assessment projects across USVI and the mainland U.S., mentoring junior staff and coordinating environmental permitting. You will prepare technical reports for agencies such as EPA and DPNR, while collaborating with clients and regulators to ensure high-quality outcomes. The role is based in St.

Croix or St. Thomas, USVI, supporting diverse projects and travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in an environmental or related role.
• Strong understanding of federal and territorial environmental laws and regulations.
• Proficiency with environmental software and data analysis tools (e.g., GIS, environmental modeling software).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with territorial and federal environmental regulations.
• Conduct environmental assessments and site evaluations (e.g., Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments).
• Serve as a primary technical contact for clients and regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior staff and review their technical work for quality and accuracy.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data from air, water, and soil samples.
• Manage environmental permitting, including air, water, waste, and land use permits.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for regulatory agencies (e.g., DPNR, EPA).
• Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, and the public on environmental matters.
• Support sustainability programs that reduce water use and waste generation.
• Track project performance and proactively manage risks, issues, and changes.
