Job summary

Tysam Tech, LLC in the US Virgin Islands seeks a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead design, permitting, and project execution across the USVI and mainland US. You will guide teams, oversee field investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role offers relocation assistance for qualified candidates and a path to grow our environmental practice.

The position is based in St. Croix or St. Thomas with on-site work at client facilities and travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Environmental Engineering or similar engineering degree.
• 5+ years of environmental engineering experience; consulting experience preferred.
• PE license, or EIT with the ability to obtain a PE within 12 months of hire.
• Stormwater design and water/wastewater plant design experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate site assessment data and recommend corrective action.
• Lead field investigations, including drilling, monitoring well installation, and sampling of soil, air, surface water, and groundwater.
• Develop remediation designs, plans, specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Prepare permit applications, regulatory submittals, and responses to agency comments.
• Manage construction quality assurance to confirm work meets design documents.
• Monitor the performance of completed systems and recommend operational improvements.
• Support client compliance programs, including air permits, TPDES, SPCC, CZM, and EPCRA.
• Perform quality control review of all reports, designs, calculations, and data before submission.
• Direct contractors, subcontractors, and CAD drafters, and coordinate with clients on project deliverables.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and specialists.
