Job summary

HDR is actively seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead complex remediation projects. You will direct investigations, design, and action plans across soil, groundwater, and other media, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with clients and regulators.

You should bring 10+ years in remediation, PE licensure, and strong communication. Expect collaboration across offices with travel as required and a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board.
• 10+ years of experience in remedial investigation, design and remediation actions.
• Experience with PFAS, mining remediation, and federal programs (DoD/USACE).
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to manage client relationships.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex remedial investigation, feasibility study, remedial design, and remedial action projects for federal, state, municipal, and private-sector clients.
• Develop remediation strategies for sites impacted by VOCs, SVOCs, metals, PCBs, pesticides, PFAS, NAPL, and mixed wastes.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for remedial design projects and provide technical reviews.
• Oversee RI, FS, Pre-Design Investigations, Remedial Design and Remedial Action Reports.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development initiatives.
• Lead meetings with regulatory agencies including EPA and state agencies; manage regulatory relationships.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and construction documentation.
