Job summary

HDR is a leading engineering firm delivering innovative environmental solutions. The Senior Environmental Engineer will lead complex remediation projects, provide technical oversight, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work with clients across federal and state programs, develop scopes and budgets, and drive project success from investigation through remedy implementation and site closure. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of remedial investigation, design and implementation.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) required.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Experience with soil/ groundwater remedial technologies preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Commitment to an employee-owned culture and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex remedial investigations, feasibility studies and remedial design.
• Develop innovative remediation strategies for VOCs, SVOCs, metals, and PFAS.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for remedial design projects.
• Oversee projects across soil, groundwater, sediment, and mine sites.
• Develop scopes, work plans, schedules, cost estimates, and budgets.
• Act as Senior Technical Lead on high-profile remediation projects.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and construction docs.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development.
