Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Environmental Specialist to provide senior-regulatory and strategic support for environmental restoration, compliance, permitting, and emerging contaminant projects across the United States.

The role is part-time as needed with hybrid work arrangements and potential travel up to 15% within North America. The ideal candidate will navigate complex environmental regulations and advise clients on high-profile challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
• 25+ years of experience in environmental restoration, regulatory compliance, permitting, or environmental consulting.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including RCRA and related cleanup programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical and regulatory leadership for environmental restoration, remediation, permitting, compliance, and emerging contaminant projects.
• Develop and implement regulatory and stakeholder engagement strategies that support successful project outcomes.
• Advise clients on federal and state environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance obligations.
• Lead interactions and negotiations with regulators, government agencies, tribal entities, and other stakeholders.
• Support business development by identifying and pursuing growth opportunities with existing and new clients.
