Job summary

Toeroek Associates, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist to provide technical support for all phases of Targeted Brownfields Assessments, including Phase I and II ESAs and cost estimation for site redevelopment. Travel is periodic.

BS in Engineering/Geology/Environmental Science with 4+ years of contaminated site experience is required. Proficiency in Excel and knowledge of environmental laws are essential. This is a remote position with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field; 4+ years of practical experience related to contaminated site characterization and remediation.
• Experience with Phase I and Phase II ESAs and reporting; knowledge of federal/state environmental laws (Superfund, RCRA, Brownfields).
• Experience with Excel for quantitative analyses and data handling.
• Preferred: 40-Hour HAZWOPER; EPA Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor credentials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I and II ESAs and oversee data collection.
• Evaluate environmental data in field and office settings; lead field activities.
• Prepare technical reports on site characterization, remedial options, and costs.
• Coordinate subcontractors and laboratories; ensure quality/budget/schedule adherence.
• Assist in organizing public meetings to address ESA findings.
