Job summary

MTA Construction & Development seeks a Senior Environmental Specialist Level 2 to support extensive permitting, design, and construction programs. The role provides QA for Environmental Impact Statements, technical guidance to project teams, and coordination with owners and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance.

Requires a bachelor's in an environmental field and eight years of related experience, including four years in management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental field; eight years of related experience.
Four years in a management or supervisory/project manager role in a large organization.
Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards; CEP-IT desirable.

Responsibilities

Support project management for a large, multi-year permitting/design/build program.
Perform quality assurance reviews of Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Assessments.
Provide technical assistance to project management staff regarding discipline.
Investigate potential regulatory violations and assist with reporting.
Ensure safety plans, daily logs, and calibration requirements are tracked.
Coordinate with Agency Owner and contractor staff; respond to RFIs.
Assist with reports and permit documents; work with GIS for updates.
