Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. in Tennessee seeks a Senior or Principal Practice Leader to guide environmental engineering and consulting projects from our Tennessee offices (Chattanooga, Knoxville, Johnson City, Nashville). Hybrid work may be available.

You will mentor staff, drive business development, manage client relationships, and oversee regulatory compliance and remediation strategies across sectors. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years (10+ preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience.
• Strong track record in business development and client relationships.
• Understanding of TDEC guidance documents (preferred).
• Experience with environmental field work (soil, groundwater, vapor, indoor air).
• Experience with due diligence and regulatory compliance projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and travel as needed.
• Project planning, controls, and subcontract management experience.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage tasks and projects including investigation/remediation and budgeting with quality focus.
• Lead proposals and drive business development efforts.
• Develop site-specific remediation and closure strategies.
• Maintain client contacts and participate in industry events.
• Mentor staff and oversee subcontractors.
• Prepare reports under state/federal regulations and guidance.
• Meet with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Review regulations and develop client strategies.
• Occasional fieldwork and site visits; oversee subcontractors.
