Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior Principal Practice Leader to lead environmental consulting projects from Tennessee offices, with hybrid work options. You will supervise client management, business development, and project delivery for complex remediation and regulatory compliance work.

The role requires strong leadership, broad environmental consulting experience, and the ability to guide teams and engage with regulators, clients, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years (10+ preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience, preferably in the Tennessee marketplaces, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong track record in business development, including proposals leadership, and stewarding and building client relationships with repeat business.
• Understanding of Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) guidance documents and risk evaluation resources.
• Experience planning and overseeing multi-media field work, including soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air investigations.
• Experience with environmental due diligence and regulatory compliance projects.
• Experience with environmental assessment tools and techniques and remedial technologies.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
• Experience managing the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to make presentations at industrial conferences and at client meetings.
• Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.
• Field work and overnight travel may be required.
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec's culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks.

• Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Education and Licensure

• Bachelor's degree environmental science, chemistry, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or a related field of study. (required)
• Advanced degree in a related field of study. (preferred)
• Professional registration (e.g. P.G. or P.E.). (preferred)
