Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner - Transmission to join the Environmental Planning and Permitting team in the Midwest. This hybrid role can be based in multiple Midwest offices, including Indianapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Columbus, Minneapolis, and more.

You will lead permitting, NEPA work, and energy project support for transmission and renewable projects. You will manage client relationships, pursue opportunities, and grow AECOM's environmental planning portfolio across the

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, geography, natural resources, engineering, or related field.
6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in electric transmission and renewable energy.
Ability to travel for agency/client meetings, as needed.
A valid U.S. Driver's license is required for this role.
US Citizenship is required for this role.

Responsibilities

Lead environmental planning and compliance for energy infrastructure projects and regulatory filings.
Manage early-stage due diligence for siting energy projects and related infrastructure.
Provide project management on mid-to large-sized projects including schedules, budgets, and invoicing.
Work on environmental documents and entitlements for energy sector projects.
Support projects across the Midwest leveraging national technical platforms.
Contribute to marketing, proposals, and cost estimates as seller-doer.
Mentor junior and mid-level staff and provide technical guidance.
