Job summary

Energy Transfer LP in Houston seeks an experienced environmental permitting professional to support midstream oil and gas projects, including pipelines and compressor stations. You will ensure regulatory compliance and manage environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include preparing permit applications, coordinating with engineering and construction teams, interfacing with regulators, and supervising field staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental / biological science, civil / environmental engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years in environmental permitting within oil & gas, focusing on linear projects.
  • Experience with USACE Permitting (CWA 404, Rivers and Harbors Act 10 & 408).
  • Experience with FERC permitting processes (Prior Notice, 7(b), 7(c)).
  • Experience with NHPA Section 106 compliance and Endangered Species Act consultations.
  • Experience with Nationwide Permit 12 and Individual Permits.
  • Knowledge of state-level environmental permits and project permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and manage environmental permit applications at federal, state, and local levels (wetlands & waterways crossings, stormwater permits, etc.).
  • Coordinate environmental support to business development, engineering, and construction teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental regulations (CWA, ESA, NEPA, NHPA, Rivers and Harbors Act).
  • Collaborate with project teams to communicate environmental requirements and ensure lifecycle compliance.
  • Provide weekly updates to Project Director and Director - Environmental Permitting on activities and milestones.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies to facilitate permit development and compliance.
  • Oversee surveys and review related reports, permit applications, and consultation documentation.
  • Develop project scopes, proposals, cost estimates, and permitting schedules.
  • Manage environmental budgets and supervise field inspectors and survey teams.
