Hudbay is seeking a senior Environmental professional to lead permitting efforts for the Copper World project and other properties in Arizona. The role entails managing regulatory compliance, coordinating with operations and engineering, and guiding a team of environmental staff and consultants.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in environmental permitting for mining, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil/Hydrology/Environmental/Mining or related discipline.
• 10+ years of environmental permitting experience.
• Experience with state and federal permitting of exploration and mining projects.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage environmental permitting plans and strategies.
• Coordinate activities between operations, engineering and permitting teams.
• Mentor and develop staff within the environmental program.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations.
