Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Permitting Lead to provide technical leadership and project management for permitting and compliance on electric transmission, distribution, and substations projects in the Northeast.

You will guide proposal development, permitting strategy, agency coordination, and environmental reviews from planning through construction. You will mentor staff, coordinate with project managers and clients, identify regulatory requirements, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related environmental field and 8+ years of permitting experience.
Experience leading environmental permitting for power and utility projects.
Strong knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and related regs.
Ability to manage multiple projects with tight schedules and budgets.
Experience coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies.
Proven mentoring and client engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Lead proposal development, fee estimates, scope development, and project pursuit activities.
Oversee environmental permitting across multiple power delivery projects with technical ownership.
Develop permitting plans for transmission lines, substations, and renewable energy facilities.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate permitting requirements into design.
Prepare and review permit applications, environmental assessments, and regulatory documents.
Provide mentorship and training to staff on permitting regulations and best practices.
