Job summary

ERM seeks a Managing Consultant, Scientist (Environmental Permitting) to lead environmental permitting for major energy and infrastructure projects from planning through operation. Based in Charleston, WV or Indianapolis, IN, you will guide permitting strategy, NEPA work, and client engagements across the U.S., mentoring teams and advancing sustainable infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental studies, environmental management, wetland science, planning, geography, or related field.
4+ years (8 years preferred) of project management, licensing, and permitting experience, including natural gas or renewable energy.
Experience with NEPA documents for federal/state agencies and capital project delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-media permitting and regulatory strategies for energy and technology infrastructure projects across the United States.
Manage NEPA projects and related activities in support of client development projects.
Contribute to permitting strategies, due diligence, and impact assessments with quality control reviews.
Prepare permitting documents and support business development with existing clients and leads.
