Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Scientist (Environmental Permitting) based in Charleston, WV or Indianapolis, IN to lead environmental permitting strategies for energy infrastructure nationwide. You will mentor teams, engage clients, and collaborate with ERM’s global network to deliver high-quality solutions while advancing lower-carbon development.

You will coordinate federal, state, and local permitting, prepare NEPA-type documents, and help expand permitting capabilities across key U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental studies or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years (8 years preferred) of project management, licensing, and permitting experience in natural gas or renewable energy.
• Experience preparing NEPA-type documents for federal/state agencies and providing Capital Project Delivery support.
• Experience with federal, state, local permitting and development of energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-media permitting and regulatory strategies for energy and technology infrastructure projects across the United States.
• Manage NEPA projects and provide technical assistance on permitting and regulatory compliance.
