Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) seeks a Managing Consultant, Scientist (Environmental Permitting) based in Charleston, WV or Indianapolis, IN. You will lead permitting strategies for energy and technology infrastructure across the United States, mentoring teams and coordinating with clients and ERM's global network to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions.

You will oversee NEPA documents, liaise with regulators, and help expand ERM's permitting capabilities while supporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental studies or related field; equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years (8 years preferred) of project management, licensing, and permitting.
  • Experience preparing NEPA-type documents for federal/state agencies.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local permitting for energy projects.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members; strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-media permitting and regulatory strategies for energy and technology infrastructure.
  • Manage NEPA projects and support capital project delivery for energy roles.
  • Develop permitting documents and oversee data collection, reports, and studies.
  • Support business development and expand ERM's renewable energy projects.
  • Ensure quality, budget, schedule, and scope alignment; build client relationships.
