Job summary

Langan seeks a Project Environmental Permitting & Compliance Engineer, or Scientist / Project Manager to join its collaborative team in Boston, MA or New Haven, CT. This role focuses on multimedia environmental permitting and compliance, including air quality permitting and modeling, audits, and development of monitoring and spill prevention plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• PE/FE/EIT or CHMM preferred; 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare permit applications and compliance programs for multiple environmental media (air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, SPCC, etc.).
• Perform multi-media compliance audits, gap assessments, inspections, and program reviews.
• Lead in the development and management of monitoring and contingency plans (SPCC, FRP, SPR, SWPPP).
• Oversee junior staff and provide mentorship on project tasks.
• Assist in proposals, scope development, and cost estimation.
• Manage project budgets and client communications to ensure timely delivery.
