Job summary

Langan is seeking an Environmental Permitting and Compliance Project Manager, Scientist or Engineer – Air Quality to join our collaborative team. The role focuses on leading air quality projects, preparing permit applications, and dispersion modeling across the US.

Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, client interaction, budget management, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities to advance in a full‑time professional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Meteorology, or closely related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 6+ years of experience with air permitting and multimedia compliance in a consulting environment.
• PE or on track to obtain (FE/EIT) or CHMM preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review air permit applications with regulatory compliance.
• Lead air permitting from due diligence through construction and operation.
• Air quality dispersion modeling development, execution, and analysis.
• Propose emission controls, operating/modification adjustments.
• Perform modeling with AERMOD, MOVES, CALPUFF for compliance and EIS.
• Communicate technical work to clients and agencies.
