Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Principal Environmental Professional (Geologist or Engineer) to lead site assessment and remediation projects in California. You will guide staff, manage client relationships, and drive growth through proposals and strategic partnerships.

Based in California or remotely, you will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure deliverables meet quality standards, and navigate California and western state regulations. Travel locally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering, environmental science, or related field.
• 15+ years of relevant professional consulting experience (12+ with a Master’s).
• Proven experience as Project Manager overseeing technical studies within schedule and budget.
• Strong proposal leadership and client-facing communication abilities.
• Familiarity with California and western state regulations and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead team growth through outreach to potential clients and proposal preparation.
• Collaborate with client contacts, staff geologists and engineers, regulatory specialists, and agency partners.
• Support client retention by fostering a collaborative work environment and ensure profitability.
• Lead proposal efforts for projects of all sizes, and manage budgets and schedules.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring quality and on-time delivery; stay current on regulations.
