Job summary

Environmental Law & Policy Center seeks a Senior Foundation Relations Officer to manage a large portfolio of foundation grants and expand the grants program. You will identify and secure new funding, manage deadlines, and write compelling letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports.

You will engage with funders, collaborate with leadership and staff, and drive increased revenue from high-level grants ($50,000+).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required.
• 7-10 years development experience with 3-4 years focused on foundation relations and grant writing.
• Proven track record of identifying and securing increased and new foundation funding.
• Experience/connections within Midwest environmental philanthropy highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage a busy grant calendar to meet deadlines.
• Lead proposal, LOI, and report development with leadership and program staff.
• Produce persuasive grant letters, proposals, and reports.
• Cultivate relationships with foundation staff and funders.
• Ensure timely follow-up on submissions to maximize funding.
• Identify and solicit new foundation prospects.
• Engage leadership to strategize with funders.
• Prepare staff for funder meetings and fundraising events.
• Support overall fundraising goals and campaigns throughout the year.
