Job summary

CDH Consulting is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Environmental Engineer to lead field investigations and remediation projects for oil and gas clients. You will mentor junior staff, ensure health and safety compliance, and coordinate with project teams and regulators in a fast-paced field setting.

The role emphasizes independent decision-making, rigorous data collection, and effective communication, with substantial travel and field activity across active facilities

Qualifications

• 4+ years of environmental consulting, oil and gas, or related industry experience.
• Experience with at least two of the following: excavation oversight, drilling oversight, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, environmental field investigations, remediation and restoration.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas operations and associated environmental issues.
• Proven ability to safely lead field activities and make independent decisions in dynamic field environments.
• Experience mentoring and training junior staff.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead field implementation of investigations, remediation, and compliance projects at oil and gas facilities.
• Plan and execute field activities with minimal oversight.
• Oversee excavation, drilling, well installation, remediation, waste management, and site restoration.
• Collect and manage soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor samples.
• Monitor contractors and document field activities.
• Support technical report preparation through data review and observations.
